Clean fuels and vehicles
Clean fuels and vehicles

Creating travel options that utilise cleaner, more fuel-efficient vehicles and alternative fuels.

In seeking to encourage cleaner and better transport, most CIVITAS cities include the use of clean vehicles and clean fuels in their integrated strategies. The implementation of cleaner vehicles decreases air pollution which reduces the harmful effects from vehicle emissions and improves the quality of life for everyone. On a longer-term perspective, the implementation of cleaner vehicles can lead to greater energy independence (from fossil fuels) and relief from unstable oil prices.

The group exchanges through email groups on specific topics of relevance to clean fuels and vehicles: from discussing the input to events to questions about measures implemented in CIVITAS cities. This group is open to representatives of CIVITAS Forum members who are working on implementing clean fuels and vehicles in their cities. Members of the group exchange with their peers in the successful implementation, evaluation and dissemination of their clean fuel and vehicle measures.
