Improving the quality and efficiency of public transport and better integration with other modes.
The stimulation of collective passenger transport involves improved quality of service by means of introducing: clean and energy-efficient vehicle fleets; non-conventional public transport systems; innovative organisational, financing and management schemes; improved security and safety; and integration with walking, cycling and other modes. Particular attention is made to accessibility for people with reduced mobility.
The group exchanges through email groups on specific topics of relevance to collective transport: from discussing the input to events to questions about measures implemented in CIVITAS cities. This group is open to representatives from CIVITAS Forum cities who are working on collective transport measures in their cities. The group involves an exchange with peers in the successful implementation, evaluation and dissemination of their collective transport measures.
