Vélocampus is a students association with 2 employees, which offers a yearly rent of bicycles for Nantes’ students. It also offers other two-wheels services like reparation, survey…The main objectives of Vélocampus are:
- Promote student bicycle use and ease traffic flow on campus;
- Give students greater freedom of movement;
- Develop a respect for the environment and an awareness of civic responsibility;
- Provide a form of transport that suit students' pockets.

| The Measure |
Velocampus” hires bicycles to students on an annual basis (on presentation of a student card and various other documents) in return for an annual Velocampus association membership fee of 30 Euro. Repairs are free for members, except for those resulting from accidents or incorrect use, and there is a 150 Euro deposit to cover theft.
The bicycles are regularly serviced (brakes, lights, etc), and free check-ups ensure that the bicycles are always safe to ride. The association also attends numerous events and offers free safety check ups. The bicycles are supplied with a U-lock, a pump and a bungee cord.

Main tasks:
- Yearly rent of bicycles to students (280 bicycles);
- Organisation of bicycle tours for students to discover the Nantes bicycle network;
- Technical controls of bicycles and reparations, advices to repair bicycles;
- Purchase of bicycles to complete the fleet;
- Sale of old bicycles and sale of pieces of bicycles and anti-thefts at cost price;
- Marketing survey.
320 bicycles should be available next years and the University has proposed a new storage place for Velocampus bicycles.
