CIVITAS Webinar: Promoting safety in cycling: discover the new EU policy agenda and make it happen in your city! SAVE THE DATE!

CIVITAS Initiative

Following the recent call for a cycling strategy from the Luxembourg Presidency of the European Council, the European Parliament and the Committee of the Regions, a new policy report prepared by the European Transport Safety Council and the intense advocacy work done by the European Cycling Federation, the CIVITAS Thematic Group on Safety and Security would like to give its contribution to the current policy development and keep CIVITAS cities informed and actively involved in this very important topic.

A webinar presenting the latest policy news about Cycling safety and the current development will be organized on the 13 October 2016 at 14.30 and it will last about 90 minutes.

The main objective of this webinar is to present the new policy developments in cycling and cycling safety and the ongoing actions as well as allowing the TG members and the overall CIVITAS community to bring their concrete local contributions and experiences on board.

The webinar will host the following speakers:

  • Safe Cycling – How Europe Can Contribute? - Ellen Townsend, European Transport Safety Council,
  • European cycling road safety - Ceri Woolsgrove, European Cyclists' Federation
  • Why do cyclists feel safe in Gdansk?  Monika Evini, Project Manager, Active Mobility Unit, City of Gdansk

The final agenda is available in the downlad area (below), while the link for register is available here
