Summary

Within this measure, the City of Turku will cooperate with relevant stakeholders in order to promote the use of biogas for heavy duty freight vehicles.

Implementing sustainable mobility

On the one hand, Gasum Ltd. will invest in two or three biogas trucks and use them in the company’s own waste and organic fertiliser logistics as an example of short-distance transport, while the City of Turku will promote the biogas use by 2 – 3 delivery vans or similar which operates, e.g., food transport in the City area. Relevant information from the operation of these trucks and vans will be gathered and used for the promotion of LBG production and used in the future (e.g., filling, use, consumption, power differences and maintenance needs against traditional diesel trucks and vans).
