PORTIS

Implementing sustainable mobility

The aim of this measure is to undertake a comprehensive mobility management review and develop a mobility strategy for port employees.

This will mainly be done through measures that envisage alternative modes for travelling to and from work. In order to achieve this objective, Constanta will start by analysing the employees’ present transport patterns and volumes.

In parallel, transport modes that could serve as a car alternative and made available to and used by workers will be studied in correlation with the SUMP and PMP vision and objectives.

On the basis of the data sets obtained during the aforementioned analysis, Constanta will develop a plan presenting new models of employees’ mobility that will promote a sustainable and environmental friendly transport model and the mitigation of congestion in the city centre and at the port gates.

This strategy could include existent transport modes not currently used by workers alongside recommendations for other transport modes.
