Istanbul has changed its city transport vision from car-oriented planning into a human-oriented city vision which is shaped by the Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning (SUMP) Project finalizing by the end of 2021. Creating a more liveable city is the main goal of it and this is why, sustainable mobility (public transportation, active mobility modes) is the priority that influences future mobility scenarios and planning projects. The main challenging areas we should overcome are: designing sustainable and greener public realm; raising seamless public transportation network (including railways, metros, etc.) in the city; and widespread active mobility modes (including bicycle, scooter, pedestrian, etc.).

We do both implementing infrastructure projects and disseminating a new mobility paradigm, that includes pedestrian priority by using participatory tools and inclusive methods, to make the city more liveable and resilient. Behind all these efforts, there is the desire to reduce climate change effects and catch up outputs on smart cities and future cities. In addition, we also want to create pioneer technology-based products, processes, and services to make transportation more inclusive and comfortable.
