Tropea (Italy)

Tropea is a small picturesque town located in a southern Italian region of Calabria, which in 2021 scored a title of Italy's most beautiful village. It experiences over half a million visitors a year which affects the local transport system significantly.

In terms of mobility and transport developments, the city is currently planning to reduce traffic in the the old town area, implement freight exchange stations outside the city centre and therefore reduce the transit of heavy and highly-polluting vehicles in favor of small electric vehicles, expand the e-bike sharing service (which currently has 22 e-bikes and 4 stations), and set up a scheduled urban transport service with electric shuttles.
