As part of its strategy towards achieving sustainable urban mobility, San Benedetto’s municipal government joined a national cycling project with the aim to increase cycling levels in the town. It has a small public bike system, with eight made available in the parking lot of the train station and another 12 at the Bilge Nature Reserve. Another initiative, offered through the municipal transportation service, Start spa, has aimed to help people with disabilities get to day centres, rehabilitation centres and schools. The city also offers free transportation services to primary school students.

During the hot summer months, the city also organizes free buses from the center to the beach.

To promote clean fuels and vehicles, the City Council of San Benedetto has decided to grant free parking to owners of hybrid vehicles or cars powered by natural gas or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

Information on the challenges faced in advancing these measures, and the partnerships elaborated in the process of their implementation is not presently available.
