Summary

The Nexthamburg Wordpress Theme is a flexible, Wordpress-based crowdsourcing tool for geo-referenced postings. It is used for open bottom-up collection of ideas / problems / proposals, either topic-related or location-related or both, in the spatial context of a neighbourhood, a city or even regions.

Citizens can submit their own contributions with title, description, topic, image, location and their (nick)name. The user contributions will appear in list view and map view and can be commented and/or endorsed by other users.

The system is very flexible and offers the editors / administrators an easy adoption to the corporate identity of the respective project (colours, logos, images, structure of fixed, non-interactive contents, positioning of the interactive elements).

The Nexthamburg Wordpress Theme is being delivered together with Easymap plugin, providing the map functionalities on an OpenStreetMap basis. Like the theme, the map plugin can be adopted easily to focus on the needed neighbourhood, city or region.

So far, it has been used for many participation-oriented planning and urban / regional development processes e.g. in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Portugal.
