Interactive cycling map of Ljubljana
City of Ljubljana and Urban Planning Institute of Republic of Slovenia, both partners of CIVITAS ELAN, developed an interactive cycling map of Ljubljana on Geopedia which will be constantly edited and upgraded.
It is currently a simple map with relevant information on cycling in the city, which will evolve into a complex interactive browser of cycling “spots” with detailed information on cycling roads and paths, location of bicycle racks, points of bike rentals, as well as possible dangerous areas and destinations for cycling tours.Based on citizens’ initiative, the map was recently upgraded with an option “Cycling in Ljubljana - suggestions and ideas” that enables the registered users to post comments on how to improve this tool. It also includes a forum for discussions about cycling issues. The innovative application was well received by the public, particularly because this is the first map of this kind in Ljubljana.The map is available here.
