PORTIS goes public in Klaipėda

The CIVITAS PORTIS city of Klaipėda recently held a conference to introduce the project to the local population.

Held from 9-10 October, the event - entitled "Sustainable urban mobility solutions for Klaipëda” - gathered together residents with various perspectives on the city's transport situation.

Some of the groups represented included car drivers, public transport users, pedestrians and cyclists. Members of Klaipeda’s SUMP Committee and city planners were also present.

They discussed the planned actions and measures of the PORTIS project in Klaipėda, whilst also looking at the current infrastructure and problems within the city.

Examples of sustainable urban mobility best practice from abroad were presented, with the  participants were invited to take part in the creation of the Klaipėda SUMP action plan.
