PORTIS pairs up Ningbo and Constanta in the name of sustainable mobility

International cooperation is key to ensuring the spread of sustainable mobility measures worldwide. A CIVITAS PORTIS event saw the project contributing in its own way towards these efforts.

On  30 October 2017, the “China (Ningbo) - Romania Industry and Logistics Cooperation Forum” took place in Constanta. Constanta is one of the five PORTIS Living Lab cities, whilst Ningbo is the project's follower city.

The aim of the event was to identify the local business opportunities for future inward-bound investment from China that would contribute to the sustainable urban development of the Constanta Municipality and Port of Constanta.

During the event, a cooperation agreement was signed by the two municipalities, which marks the first step towards Ningbo and Constanta becoming sister cities.

The Forum, which focused on  economic cooperation, was organised by Constanta Municipality and the Ningbo Municipality. The Romanian Ministry for Businesses, the local Chamber of Commerce, and Constanta Port Administration were also involved.
