Series of round tables to round up CIVITAS in Zagreb

The CIVITAS ELAN Zagreb project partners have met in Zagreb Forum on 27 March 2012 to set the course and timeline for the remaining CIVITAS activites in the city. The Mayor of Zagreb, Milan Bandić also attended the meeting to support the project. Amongst the activities planned is a series of round tables.

The first round table was already held on 3 April 2012 under the theme "Mobility in my neighbourhood". The idea of the round tables is to gather experts to discuss a topic related to sustainable urban mobility and present the results of the CIVITAS ELAN activites to the public and the media. The Major of Zagreb, Milan Bandic, regards CIVITAS ELAN as one of the most important projects in the city because it has opened the door for Zagreb to learn from the experience of other European cities. Principal of the City Office for the Strategic Planning and Development of the City, Jadranka Veselic Bruvo, talked about the impact of CIVITAS ELAN and activities for  sustainable mobility in Zagreb in the future. He summed up all projects results of the past 3.5 years. The next round table will take place on 10 April and will focus on congestion charging. Then there will be round tables on car pooling, freight delivery, benefits of public transport and cycling. The series will culminate in a final event on 15 May.
